How to Become a Tutor

Please note that we only match tutees and tutors on the first to second week of each month. If you join outside of that timeframe, you will be enrolled for the next month.

 

Requirements: 

1. Be a high school student 

2. Have some experience working with kids

   1. Examples include, but are not limited to: other tutoring programs, babysitting, coaching, camp counselor etc.

   2. If you do not have any previous experience, briefly explain in the form why you would like to tutor and any qualifications you have

3. Commit to at least 30 minutes of tutoring a week

4. Be able to communicate with the program directors and parents of tutees in a timely manner

   1. When you are matched, we will connect you and your tutee via email

   2. Tutors and tutees are responsible for communicating and scheduling their own sessions, preferably through Zoom.

5. Attend mandatory monthly meetings, typically on the first or second weekend.

   1. You will not be eligible to tutor for the month if you do not attend a meeting or communicate with the directors.

6. If you would like to resign from or rejoin the program, please complete the designated forms.

   1. You must drop by the first day of each month.

   2. You may rejoin any time, but please note that we only match tutees and tutors on the first to second week of each month.

   3. If you join outside of that timeframe, you will be enrolled for the next month.
